ACES - english 2018 biography
Throughout the years the bands formation changed several times, which leaves Tomas and Stefan to be the only founding members playing in the band to this day. Aces was formed in 2012 and the first gigs were held in clubs in their hometown, Bratislava (Slovakia).
The biggest early achievement was playing on the biggest rock festival in Slovakia - TOPFEST (alongside names like Iron Maiden or Billy Talent.), and the Polish/ Czech/Slovak band competition "Radegast Lihen 2013" where Aces were the youngest of 217 bands, but still made it to the 2nd place - the highest place of all Czech and Slovaks bands that were in.
Another success was touring with the austrian hard-rock band Easy or a gig with famous Slovak rock band Horkyze Slize in Vienna. In Austrian band competition "EVN Plug And Play" Aces got into the top 4. Three songs from their EP Raw Rock'n Roll started airing on radio Aligator and Rockova Republika.
2015/2016 The band got into work with slovak theatre Nova Scena in Bratislava, playing as a band in an adaptation of the critically acclaimed British comedy One Man Two Guv'nors. During this time they also recorded new songs and played live gigs in the Czech republic, Austria and in Bratislava, e.g. performed at the Forbes magazine awards or as a support for the legendary Boney M. in the HANT Sports Arena in Bratislava.
In 2016/2017 the band changed its formation again. The new members are - Daniel Griglak (bass) and Boris Basista (drums).Aces released their single "Save Me" as a tease for the upcoming album. At the end of 2017 Aces played successful fall tour in Slovakia and the year ended with a big concert in "Majestic Music Club" in Bratislava.
2018 started off with a gig in Arena Wien and later ACES were awarded as NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR 2017 (in Slovakia) by the Association of Authors and Performing Artists. The nationwide radio station Antena Rock aired the new singel "Save Me" and placed it into regular broadcast.
ACES introduced their music in Passau - Germany, where they took part in a band
contest "Smokey Joe Awards" by Musikforderverein in Tabakfabrik Passau.
They are currently in the process of recording their debut album, which will be out
by the end of this year.
